• AppLovin ad creative for e-commerce — longer stories, back-loaded CTAs, end cards and volumeSavannah Sanchez's AppLovin playbook (2026) — full-screen in-game ads unskippable for 5 s, watched ~35 s on average, 81% over 30 s; flip the social formula (low-key opening, rising action ~20 s, hard sell in the last 5 s); talking-to-camera UGC with voiceover; interactive end cards drive >50% of clicks; upload every past Meta/TikTok ad and aim for thousands of variants; weekly sprints and patience before killing high-spend ads.
• BFCM prep — housekeeping, offer, homepage and email plan (CTC checklist)CTC's Black Friday/Cyber Monday checklist for seven-figure brands, least to most impact — billing limits and 90%+ match rate, a simple 20%+ site-wide offer, AOV bundles when BFCM cohorts have poor LTV, a whale bundle (a $1,000 bundle for a $50-product brand), the homepage as the landing page, and the email/SMS cadence through the free-shipping cutoff.
• Brand vs media arbitrage — why multi-SKU performance ecommerce stalls near $10MAlex Hormozi's argument that paid-media "arbitrage" ecommerce (several unbranded products) caps around $10–12M as CAC rises, margins compress and dupes undercut you — and the fix: cut to the one winning product, build a brand and recruit believing influencers; don't diversify into new businesses for the same audience.
• Creative economics — the median ad loses money, so cut the cost per ad (CTC's 1.3M-ad study)CTC's analysis of 1.339M Meta ads across 158 brands — the median ad is worth −$3.20 in 60-day contribution, the average +$507, and the top 5% of ads produce 73% of all value — so you can't change the odds, only the price of each "ticket"; commission-only creator programs (Tribe, Refunnel) that pay only for winners let The Normal Brand triple ad volume and double spend at the same incremental ROAS.
• Demand creation vs demand capture — the "modern distribution" playbook (Skullcandy and TikTok Shop)CTC's framework for low-LTV consumer brands — ecommerce is only ~17% of transactions and Amazon ~40% of online, so impression-heavy channels (TikTok Shop, CTV, creator content) create demand that is captured on Amazon and in retail; Skullcandy's TikTok Shop grew 4.3x Jan→Aug 2026 while its own ecommerce grew 2.7x; don't take big retail distribution without a demand engine.
• Evergreen discount collection pages for scaling ecommerce adsThe ad landing page Smart Marketer moves to once a single product page ("butter chicken") stops scaling — no top navigation (+22% in one test), standing ~10% discount, UGC, hero products with add-to-cart, a bundle for AOV, reviews, VIP offer at the bottom.
• Finding and recruiting UGC creators for ecommerce adsHow the Smart Marketer agency sources UGC creators for paid ads at scale — a creator "roster" built like a portfolio, a "creative menu" of formats, direct hires vs JoinBrands vs TikTok Shop, nano-tier targeting, email outreach with a stated $150–400 rate and >90% response.
• Founder bottlenecks in a growing ecommerce business — contractors, logistics, cash forecasting, sales talentHormozi's fixes for operational constraints in $3–6M ecommerce businesses — a bench of on-demand contractors for founder chores, outsourcing commoditized logistics, a finance person forecasting inventory buys, and buying vs building on-camera sales talent (live selling on Whatnot) trained with behavior-level instructions.
• Giveaway campaigns to build a list before a big saleInstead of a "join the VIP list" campaign before Black Friday or a holiday sale, run a 2-week high-value giveaway on a conversion objective with an offer on the thank-you page, judged on ROAS, then draw the winner live just before the sale opens.
• How many Black Friday ads to make — CTC's BFCM creative volume researchCTC's research across its Meta accounts — BFCM-specific ads take only ~30% of holiday spend (evergreen ~70%), October ads out-spend Black Friday ads by 50% over Q4 so don't sacrifice them, diminishing returns don't arrive until ~1,500 BF ads (one brand went $5K→$55K/day), make at least 2x last year's count, and the production order frames → catalogs → statics → video remixes → new creator content.
• How many promotional emails to send — campaign cadence tied to the marketing calendarCTC's case that email is a promotional channel, not just retention — Spiral Bible (no LTV) went from 18 to 27 campaigns a month with every send tied to a calendar moment, 2.8x campaign revenue and 28% of revenue from email — plus the BFCM cadence (3/week → daily → 3/day → extension → shipping cutoff) and how story emails fit in.
• How to structure a Meta ads account in 2025–2026The campaign layouts practitioners actually run — Dara Denney's testing campaign + Advantage+ (ASC) core, Smart Marketer's one-campaign-per-objective "Andromeda portfolio", CTC's evergreen (acquisition/retention ad sets filled to 150 ads) + marketing-moment campaigns, Ben Heath and Jon Loomer's one-campaign-one-ad-set start, Mars Men's 40 pillar campaigns — plus multiple products, countries, retargeting and the 2020 baseline.
• Knowing if your ecommerce brand is winning — CTC's three pillars (source of truth, shared target, execution)Luke Austin's operating framework for ecommerce growth — one trusted source of truth joining financial, marketing, order and calendar data; one shared definition of success (contribution margin at the top, daily targets laddering down to every channel); and relentless execution through calendar, ad, email and creative workflows plus MMM/geo-holdout testing — built in that order.
• Landing pages for Meta ads — congruency, listicles and sales pagesWhy Meta traffic converts better on a page that continues the ad's angle (listicles, advertorials, quizzes, nav-free sales pages) than on a PDP or homepage, with conversion-rate benchmarks and case results (+25%, +30%, $25K→$40K/day without new ads).
• Launching Meta ads for a new DTC brand — product, pillars, statics firstThe zero-to-one sequence from Zach Stuck (Mars Men, Hollow) and Dara Denney — pick a product/AOV that Meta economics can carry, "spiderweb" every problem the product can solve into pillars, test pillars with cheap statics in one purchase-optimised campaign, then add $100 creator videos and listicle landing pages.
• Lifting conversion by changing only the top of the page (SafeSleeve case)A homepage test in Ezra Firestone's brand SafeSleeve that changed only the hero section (benefit headline, the existing explainer video moved up, guarantee under the CTA, card-style device selector) and lifted site conversion rate 16% — why to optimise above the fold first and skip full redesigns.
• Marketing moments — building Meta creative and email around a dated calendarCTC's principle that your best ROAS day is never evergreen — run time-bound "marketing moments" in their own campaigns (4-campaign default account structure), plan every email, SMS, site change and post a month ahead, and borrow cultural moments; Spiral Bible scaled Meta spend 4.4x May→August while ROAS rose 1.63→1.91, with moments taking 34% of spend at ~26% better efficiency.
• Product-page anatomy — header, carousel, description and support contentEzra Firestone's four-section PDP (header, carousel, buy box, stacked conversion-support content) — ≥8 images incl. in-use shots, 5–10 s demo video, "2 headlines, 6 bullets, 1 story" description, USP images, social proof, FAQ, second CTA and cross-sell.
• Raising AOV by leading cold traffic with a bundle ("sell a system")Smart Marketer's Boom case — switching paid traffic from a best-converting single lipstick back to a $79 three-stick trio via pre-sell articles roughly doubled new-customer AOV ($38→$78) while new customers grew 33%, without touching the site; why picking offers on conversion rate alone misleads.
• Scaling ad spend past a plateau — testing budget, awareness levels and bridge pagesHormozi's advice when more spend stops bringing quality leads — treat profit as an experimentation budget (e.g. burn $200–300K on keywords to find ones that 5x the business), and move up Schwartz's awareness levels with broader keywords sent to an advertorial bridge page before the sales page.
• Should you launch TikTok Shop? Readiness, timeline and costsAshley Wright's (Social Tale) view on TikTok Shop — get Meta and Google working first, commit 6+ months, expect a ~3-month cold start (affiliates take ~2 weeks to post), budget for samples, commissions and staff, judge on ROI not views; live shopping as the next phase.
• The Meta ads testing engine for ecommerce — discovery, optimization, scalingSmart Marketer's 3-phase creative testing SOP for ecommerce Meta accounts ($15–20/day per variation, 10–15 angles, 3+ days, 20–30% hit rate), mining past ad data by segment, and the format → context → perspective ladder for fighting creative fatigue.
• The product-page buy boxBuy-box formula and CRO wins — open with a testimonial, one ownership-benefit sentence + 1–2 sentence recap, stars anchored to reviews, CTA above the fold and ≥80% wide on mobile, contrasting colour, guarantee/USPs under it, value perception (offer, GWP, badges) in the first carousel image.
• The three ad creative metrics that matter — thumb-stop ratio, unique link CTR, conversion rateSmart Marketer's three creative metrics read as a story — thumb-stop ratio (3-s views ÷ impressions; >30% great, <15% rework), unique link CTR (~1.5% internal benchmark), conversion rate — plus "ad scent" when clicks don't convert, and how to build the custom metric in Ads Manager.
• UGC creator contracts, usage rights and raw footageWhat Smart Marketer puts in every UGC creator contract — scope, deliverables, platform-agnostic "paid advertising" usage, a 4-year license, raw unedited files, 5-day production with a revision day, product value + fee as the package — and why.
• Validating a new offer fast — research, many landers vs a CVR benchmark, statics, then creatorsThe sequence CTC's guaranteed seven-figure service uses to find and scale a winning ecommerce offer in ~7 days instead of a month — pick products and offers from market data, build landing pages until conversion beats the industry benchmark for your AOV, validate the offer with cheap static "branded ads", then scale with whitelisted creator video — and why speed matters most for subscription brands.
• When and how fast to scale Meta ads — scaling criteria and the 80/20 budget splitSmart Marketer's 2025 scaling rules (scale at CPA 50% below target for 7 days, +20% every 3 days, watch weekly frequency >2), the 80/20 prospecting/retargeting split with new-vs-existing exclusions, and the Pretty Farm Girl case (spend doubled, revenue +65% in 60 days).
