Postiz case — going "agent-ready" and riding X Articles from $17k to $143k MRR in 4 months
Nevo's social scheduler Postiz took 1.5 years to reach ~$21k MRR, then grew ~$1k MRR a day to $143k (self-reported, Starter Story) after making it usable by AI agents (API + Markdown skill file listed in agent marketplaces), a user's 7.2M-view X Article driving ~700 trials/day, his own X Articles, paid quote-reposts — and churn fell from 26–28% to 13.7%.
Postiz case — agent-ready SaaS + X Articles
TL;DR
- Make the product callable by AI agents: public API → a Markdown file describing it for agents → list it in every Claude/ChatGPT/agent marketplace you can.
- Build for the trend before it peaks; when a signal appears (a user’s viral post), double down on that exact format.
- In early 2026, X pushed long-form Articles to interested readers — Nevo got ~500k views per article with ~200 followers.
- Pay big accounts to quote-repost each article ($60–350 each, ~20 reposters per article).
- Agent-driven usage cut monthly churn from 26–28% to 13.7%: the agent does the recurring work humans quit doing.
- Once growth hits, freeze features and make every integration reliable.
Details
Numbers (Nevo, shown on Stripe). ~$21k MRR after 1.5 years; then $41k (Feb), $76k (Mar), $80k (Apr), $109k (May), ~$140k–143k (late June), about $1k of new MRR a day; 4,271 subscribers.123
The pivot. Postiz posted to 30+ platforms by clicking and scheduling; Nevo made it “agentic” so users schedule via Claude, OpenClaw, Hermes Agent or ChatGPT.4 He calls himself a hype guy who checks whether each new trend can serve Postiz; when OpenClaw launched he made Postiz agent-ready.5
The spark. Oliver Henry, who marketed his app Snuggly on TikTok, wrote an X Article on automating it 100% with OpenClaw + Postiz. It got 7.2M views and brought ~700 trials a day, nonstop; a second article got ~1.5M.5
Doubling down on the format. Nevo wrote his own OpenClaw + Postiz article with ~200 followers and got ~500k views, then another. His read: X had become an interest-based feed and was pushing Articles because they hold attention.6 To scale, he opened “view activity” on other viral articles, found the influencers reposting them, and booked paid promotion reposts (with X’s paid-promotion label), so each article got ~20 quote-reposts.7 Cost: $60–350 per quote-repost.8
His advice.9
- Almost any SaaS should have an API; expose it as an agent-ready MD file and list it in Claude and ChatGPT marketplaces — this alone brought him a lot of traffic.
- Build before the trend, then wait — if you build when it happens, someone else eats the cake.
- Agent users are early adopters, not a mass market — a good beachhead.
- Agentic use reduces churn: users feed a content source to an LLM and get a week of posts without returning daily.
Running it now. At $17k MRR he couldn’t hire; at this scale he hired support and a developer.8 He stopped building features to make all 30 integrations reliable, and hopes agents will soon be able to pay without a human-in-the-loop Stripe checkout.1011
Hosts’ read. Pat Walls: the agent pivot was the vehicle, but marketing (more articles, paid reposts) was the gas; and Postiz already solved a real problem — trend-hopping without a working product doesn’t work.1213
Disagreements / caveats
- Timing-dependent: X’s Article distribution and the OpenClaw hype were specific to early 2026. The lesson is “spot a format that platforms push and go hard”, not “write X Articles forever”.
- Paid quote-reposts are influencer ads; disclose them (Nevo used X’s paid-promotion tag).
- Self-reported on Starter Story, which promotes its ideas database in the episode.
