New TikTok/Instagram accounts for UGC and the 3-day warm-up

Why UGC creators should post from brand-new niche accounts rather than their own, and Nicole Cheung's 3-day warm-up (follow and repost niche micro accounts, not macro celebrities).

New accounts for UGC and the 3-day warm-up

TL;DR

  • Every creator opens a brand-new account for your app — easier to steer the algorithm to your target audience.1
  • Warm up for ~3 days before posting.2
  • Warm-up actions: follow and repost accounts in your niche.2
  • Follow micro niche accounts, not macro ones (Nicole’s example: following Messi tells the algorithm nothing).2
  • Provide sample usernames, bios and profile pictures; keep warming up after posting.34

Details

Why new accounts (Nicole Cheung, Aug 2026). A fresh account can be shaped to the target audience quickly, versus a creator’s existing account with a mixed audience. Everyone in her program opens a new account and warms it per her playbook.1

Why micro accounts. Messi’s followers span every nationality and interest, so following him doesn’t categorize you. Following small niche accounts lets the algorithm place the account — and its future content — in one audience cluster.2

Procedure:

  1. Create the account using the course’s username/bio/avatar examples.3
  2. Days 1–3: follow and repost content from niche micro accounts.2
  3. Start posting from the content bank (Writing UGC content banks and scripts that hold watch time).
  4. Keep warming up and engaging in comments/stories afterward.4

Disagreements / caveats

  • Tactic reflects TikTok/IG behavior in 2026; algorithms change.
