Custom product pages for organic search (iOS 26 keyword-linked CPPs)
Since iOS 26 a custom product page can be shown to organic searchers for chosen keywords — but only keywords from the keyword field; Ariel Michaeli's setup steps, the long-tail and "test in Apple Ads first" strategies, the Audible example, and the 30-minute screenshot-shuffle version.
Custom product pages for organic search (iOS 26 keyword-linked CPPs)
TL;DR
- With iOS 26, CPPs became relevant for organic traffic too: you can attach a CPP to keywords so searchers see screenshots for their query.12
- Catch (Oct 2025): the keyword picker only offers terms from the US-English keyword field — not the name, subtitle or other localizations’ fields.3
- Strategy 1: default page for your main (name) keyword; CPPs for long-tail keywords in the keyword field.4
- Strategy 2: test keyword × CPP pairs in Apple Ads first (results come fast), then move the winning keyword into the keyword field and tie the CPP to it organically.51
- A CPP is not an A/B test of colours — it’s a different use case or audience (e.g. “Knicks tickets” for a ticketing app).6
- No new designs? Reorder existing screenshots so the matching feature comes first — doable in under 30 minutes.7

Why bother. Ariel cites double-digit conversion gains for CPPs in the research he has seen (Apple publishes numbers too); for paid traffic higher conversion means lower CPA, and for organic it squeezes more downloads out of page views you already worked for. CPPs also let you reach small niches you’d waste your main screenshots on.12
Setup in App Store Connect. App → Custom Product Pages → ”+” → name it (e.g. “live streaming”) → create new (or copy) → select keywords (from the keyword field) → upload screenshots → Save → Apple review. Ariel has not heard of a rejection other than for egregious screenshots, and approvals come much faster than app reviews.38
Keyword placement rules still apply. Don’t duplicate name keywords into the keyword field just to attach a CPP — duplication is still a “horrible sin” — and screenshots text isn’t indexed by Apple. A keyword in the subtitle is probably fine to also target; one in the name should get the default page.45
Learn from competitors. In Appfigures data ~83% of top apps used CPPs.9 Audible (Oct 2025) ran 13 of the 35 allowed CPPs, started ~2 years earlier: separate pages for action/thriller, romance/fantasy, podcasts, celebrities, bestsellers, self-help, each tied to Apple Ads keywords like “podcast” and “BBC podcast”. Same layout and branding everywhere, all leading to the same subscription — Audible segments the route to the pricing, not the pricing.101112
Content. Beyond naming the audience, show the features that make the app best for that audience; use reviews and demographics to find segments.62
Disagreements / caveats
- Steve P. Young (2026) treats CPPs as an ads tool and phase-2 work (Custom product pages — matching the App Store page to each ad); Ariel argues iOS 26 made them a must for organic too. Anton Tatarynovich (2023) warned they are hard to evaluate without much traffic.
- The keyword-field-only restriction is Ariel’s observation of the first release; verify the current picker.
- Appfigures sells the competitor-CPP intelligence used in the Audible example.
