# Onboarding and managing UGC creators

## TL;DR
- Record a **custom course per app** (30 min to 1h+), so you never repeat yourself.[^1]
- Assume the creator knows **nothing**: spell out every detail.[^1]
- Modules: app intro & setup → account creation & warm-up → content creation (content bank) → account management.[^1][^2][^3]
- Promise fast support (Nicole: reply **within a couple of hours**) — supported creators do more.[^3]
- The founder, not the creator, owns figuring out what goes viral.[^4]

## Details
**Course outline (Nicole Cheung, Aug 2026):**[^1][^2][^3]
1. **App introduction and setup** — including any access codes creators need to unlock features they'll film, with a tutorial.
2. **Account creation and warm-up** — sample **usernames, bios, profile pictures**; the warm-up routine ([[ugc-new-account-warmup]]).
3. **Content creation** — per format (talking head, reaction, B-roll, Snapchat-style…): a **content bank** with idea, example videos, script, emotions, on-screen and post captions, hashtags. Details in [[ugc-content-formats-and-scripts]].
4. **Account management** — keep warming up after posting, work the comment section to lift engagement, use story posts. The job is more than filming one video.

Usually it's Nicole on camera or screen-recorded tutorials. She re-films the course for each app so it's tailored, though the underlying ideas are similar across apps.[^5]

**Mindset.** Don't rely on people being paid to be smarter or care more than you. You hire creators to *create content*, not to figure out how to go viral — those are different jobs. Creators appreciate that clarity.[^4]

## Disagreements / caveats
- Her playbook (a 60-page guide, originally her college thesis) is free via her links; the warm-up guide is on her X account.[^6]
