title: What subscription apps spending $100K+/month on Meta have in common
slug: scaling-meta-past-100k-for-subscription-apps
summary: Samet Durgun's (Sep 2026) common denominators of subscription apps that scale Meta past $100K/month — LTV:CAC ≥2–3×, value/tROAS optimisation (no cost caps or install goals), 10 events per ad set per day, four tiered geo campaigns, install → validation → main creative flow with a cost-per-winner metric, one strong growth engine, cash planning, and the "invisible cost" of a passive UA lead; plus what separates $100K from $1M/month.

# What subscription apps spending $100K+/month on Meta have in common

## TL;DR
- **Hygiene rule:** every 100K+/month Meta spender Samet Durgun has seen runs an **LTV:CAC of at least 2–3×**. If you're stuck at 80–150%, fix that before scaling.[^1][^2]
- **Bid strategy:** no cost caps, no cost-per-purchase goals, never install optimisation. Use **value optimisation / ROAS**, or **tROAS** if revenue swings by week or season.[^2]
- **At least 10 optimisation events per day in every ad set**, not "50 a week". Size the budget backwards from that: 10 × your cost per event, per ad set, per day.[^3][^4]
- **Keep the structure "ridiculously simple":** about four campaigns tiered by geography (US / tier-1 English / tier-1 other languages / tier 2), mostly iOS.[^3]
- **Creative pipeline:** install campaign (first filter) → validation campaign for up to 7 days → main campaign. Track **cost per winner** and line up the next winners before fatigue.[^5][^6]
- **$100K → $1M/month** is mostly creative production speed (hundreds of ads a week) plus squeezing CPPs, ASO, product A/B tests and web2app.[^7][^8]

## Details
**Know your LTV model.** With a trial to a yearly plan, you know most of a user's LTV around day 8. With yearly and no trial, on day 1. Weekly plans take months to show it, and strong retention improves the ratio further.[^1] For spend vs revenue while scaling from $10K to $100K, it depends on how fast you recoup. Don't trust projected values early if most revenue comes from weekly renewals whose retention you don't yet know. Be careful, but not so careful that competitors take the niche first.[^9][^10]

**Signal.** Send Meta every event you have: renewals and extra purchases after the subscription. If you run a 7-day trial alongside a weekly plan, combine them into a custom event and attach a value, so Meta learns something about the user on day 1 ([[meta-qualified-trial-optimization-event]]).[^11]

**Creative flow.** Samet would not put a creative straight into the main campaign after one great day, which may be luck or a golden cohort. A validation campaign removes the luck with more events. At this scale you make hundreds of ads a month, so be selective about what enters the main campaign ([[meta-app-creative-testing-and-graduation]]).[^6]

**Scaling and money.**
- Successful apps have **one engine that works** (in-house creative, growth testing, SEO organics, influencers) and double down on it.[^6]
- They test **other regions**. Samet sees Turkish teams fixate on the US and German teams stay too long in Germany ([[high-rpd-country-bundles-for-app-ads]]).[^6][^12]
- **Web2app has two types.** A web page that redirects to the store, with enough data sent through CAPI, is "easy now" via Adjust, AppsFlyer or Adapty and improves Meta attribution. A full web funnel with web payments takes much more teamwork and paperwork. It's a "cherry on top", not the first step toward 100K ([[why-web2app-funnels]]).[^12][^13]
- **Raise cash early.** Store payouts arrive late, and growth attracts copycats. Look at mobile-friendly lenders rather than banks.[^13][^14]

**Invisible costs.**
- A UA lead who only tweaks bids adds little. Samet thinks Meta's algorithm makes 90–95% of decisions well. The lead's time is better spent on AI-assisted analysis of raw data and on creative strategy.[^14][^15]
- Don't hire an average UA person to manage your money.[^15]
- Opportunity cost: at $100K/month, 200% ROAS that could have been 300% is a lot of money nobody asks Meta about.[^16]

**Channel questions (Q&A).**
- Small budgets (~$1,500/month): start with **Meta**, which is predictable. Google wants ~10–30× more events, Google iOS is tough, Android may not pay, and TikTok is "really, really tough".[^4]
- TikTok works more easily for Gen Z or money-saving apps. At ~100K Meta spend, try Smart+ campaigns with Spark Ads.[^17]
- $100K on Meta alone is realistic if small budgets with enough events already show 150–200% ROAS. Better Meta creative usually beats learning a new network.[^18]
- Samet usually sees paid perform better than organic, which surprises people.[^10]

## Disagreements / caveats
- Samet's earlier Adapty episode (Dec 2025) set a lower floor of 5 events/day per campaign and tested on Android install campaigns judged by spend share ([[meta-ads-budget-math-for-apps]]).
- "10 events per ad set per day" is far stricter than Meta's ~50/week guideline. It assumes 100K-scale budgets.
- On a pLTV event, Samet has seen it fail to improve results when the model was poor ("that PLTV model needs to make sense").[^19]
- One practitioner's observations, given on a vendor (Adapty) webinar; no account data shown.
