# Persona landing pages, listicles and promo assets

Source: Sofi, marketing strategy manager at supplement brand Dose ([[people/sofi-dose]]), Motion's "Make Ads That Convert" event, Oct 2026.

## TL;DR
- Build pages per **persona × value prop**, borrowing the angle from winning ads; above the fold, educate on the problem before mentioning the product[^1][^2].
- **Listicles fit angles that need education**; without an education need, other formats do the job[^3].
- **Fewer clicks = higher conversion**: keep the buy box on the advertorial/listicle page (lower down if you want them to read) rather than redirecting to a PDP[^4].
- Paid traffic → landing pages (no nav, no exits); PDP → email/SMS/organic. Winning LP learnings get *tested* on the PDP, not swapped in[^5].
- Ship pages yourself: a no-dev builder took Dose from ~1 month to ~1 week per page, and minutes for edits[^6].
- For promos (BFCM): don't build promo-specific pages — add a **countdown timer + promo image banner** to pages that already work, plus promo pop-up and welcome-flow banners[^7][^8].

## Details
**The "grill dad" page.** Persona: middle-aged guy with a Blackstone, burgers, beer, tailgates — wants a quick, easy fix, not a lifestyle overhaul. Influencer grilling creatives drove to a listicle about the diet–liver connection, leaning on two value props (energy, bloating): the fat in your diet, processing alcohol, sugar, "the physical price you pay" — emotional tension plus education. Dose isn't mentioned in the first four reasons; they set up the product as the obvious solution, then "why Dose", buy box, generic sections[^1][^2].

**Three page types** (Will, guest on [[people/dara-denney]]'s channel): conversion-optimised (PDP-like), listicle, quiz[^9]. Quiz pages can save answers to a backend ([[web-quiz-psychology-questions]] for quiz design)[^10].

**Advertorials.** A native-looking article comparing products. Instinct says click out to a PDP to keep it looking editorial; Dose's tests say keep the buy box on the page[^4].

Stefan Georgi ([[people/stefan-georgi]]) disagrees in practice. Among 8-figure e-com operators he knows, the most common path is ad → advertorial → PDP → checkout. He'd send a long advertorial to a PDP for cheap products and a short one to a VSL ([[presell-funnel-paths-advertorial-vsl]]). To write advertorial variants fast, see [[writing-advertorials-with-ai]][^15].

**Collection vs hero page.** Unless one ad shows several products, send each product's ad to that product's page[^11].

**Tooling.** Dose uses a builder (Journey) that turns a Figma file or inspiration screenshot into sections via AI, publishes on a Shopify subdomain and runs A/B tests without dev; Sofi stresses it's not a sponsored mention. Iterate pages like you iterate ads; regulatory copy changes take seconds[^6][^12]. AI alternative: [[ai-landing-pages-with-claude-code]].

**BFCM playbook**[^12][^7][^8][^13]
1. Now: make 2–3 angle/persona pages for top angles of the hero SKU and give them some spend to warm up before the promo.
2. Promo time: templated assets on all pages — countdown timer; image banner under the nav (or under the timer) with the offer prominent.
3. Mid-lift: promo-specific pop-up (Dose's appears ~5 s in; test timing)[^14].
4. Bonus: promo banner on the welcome email flow and the first SMS ("best Prime price").

## Disagreements / caveats
- Supplement brand with ~3 hero SKUs; Sofi says catalogues with hundreds of SKUs or fashion/jewellery need different approaches[^3].
- Dose results are qualitative ("insane lift", numbers not shareable).
- On-page buy box (Dose's tests) vs advertorial → PDP (Stefan Georgi's peers): neither side shows numbers. Test both for your product.
