# Measuring Apple Ads revenue without an MMP

## TL;DR
- Apple Ads doesn't need an MMP to run; you can add one later.[^1]
- **Custom product page per ad group**: tie each manual ad group to its own CPP (e.g. "ASA US") and read revenue by CPP.[^2]
- **RevenueCat** can work as an Apple Ads attribution source (acquisition → by campaign) if set up correctly.[^3]
- **SKAG** gives keyword-level data in tools that only attribute at ad-group level.[^4]
- If you only run ASO + Apple Ads: track **weekly spend vs weekly revenue** and adjust — Steve's own method.[^5]

## Details
**CPP method.** In the ad group's ad step, select a submitted custom product page. Revenue landing on that CPP is attributable to that ad group.[^2] It also works for SKAG ad groups.[^6]

**Blind spot:** Apple's **automated ad group** in Max Conversion can't be tied to a CPP, so roughly half the revenue goes untracked. Options: an MMP, or the "one or two channels" shortcut of blended weekly numbers.[^2]

**RevenueCat.** Steve showed the acquisition-by-campaign view; it wasn't working on his own account but he has seen clients run it properly.[^3]

**Weekly blended method.** With no Meta running, Steve compares last week's revenue to last week's Apple Ads spend and moves spend up or down. Simple, and other founders do it too.[^5]

## Disagreements / caveats
- Blended tracking breaks once you add a second paid channel (e.g. Meta) — then you need an MMP or SDK-level attribution.
- Steve promised a dedicated attribution video (MMP vs CPP vs RevenueCat); not yet in the base.[^7]
